Welcome to my take on Pride and Prejudice!

Jane Austen is my favourite classical author, and perhaps my favourite author of all, and Pride and Prejudice at least my equal favourite among her works.

I was inspired by the title to turn the story and look at it from a similar but at the same time completely different angle, as you will discover as you read through it. If you are a Jane Austen purist, or are offended by the mere thought of homosexuality*, I suggest you don't attempt it - or if you do, that you refrain from making disparaging remarks afterwards.

Those enthused by my version of the story are more than welcome to comment. Please also let me know if you come across any mistakes or flaws in logic - it was difficult at times to juggle and recall all of the rejigged characters and their motivations!

Although I have completed my version of the story, I shall be posting one chapter at a time - so it will be a good while before the whole thing is up on the blog. In the meantime, enjoy Volume I, Chapter I...

*Be advised, if you were wondering, that this is not a work of slash fiction, but a faithful rendering of the original with certain characters and situations tweaked to present a new take on the story
